Dog Snuggle Bed – Snuggle beds consist of a fabric covered variable thickness pad with a barrier project attached. Detachable and washable covers keep the bed clean and hygienic. People often use small or medium snuggle beds for pets. Make them big enough, though, and you can use oneself to camp. The additional padding beneath you and the barrier project that surrounds your body work together to conserve body heat. This makes ideal camping snuggle beds between late fall and early spring. Put your comforter full on the floor with the face you want facing up to the floor.
Take one end of your comforter and fold it about two-thirds of the way, leaving a space on the opposite side. The folded section will turn into the blanket/snuggle section of the dog snuggle bed. Wrap both sides of the blanket by making bumpers/pillows to both sides. How small or how large the center of the bed stays depends on you and should be based on the size of your dog. By hand or with a sewing machine if you think your equipment can handle, sew the sides of the bed that fix the bumpers you just created. Now roll the front of the bed, over the spot where your blanket starts.

Make sure to leave a space between the blanket where it ends and the pillow begins, so that your dog can move his way under the blanket. Sew the pillow in place. If you wish, you can roll up the bottom of the bed to make the dog snuggle bed smaller and create a bumper that goes all the way around the outside of the bed. I did this on my bed because I like to sit dog head on the bumper, and I wanted to make my bed a little smaller than it was. Introduce the bed for your dog! Some dogs like to put on the bed, with the bumpers like pillows. Others can enjoy cuddling under the blanket.
